New Generation of OBF-X for Economical Light Module

Abstract

The use of high optical efficiency LEDs is one of the main ways to achieve cost-effective and economical headlamp design. Taking advantage of the increased optical efficiency of LED, we can optimize the dimension of thermal module through detailed thermal evaluation. At the same time, the use of mature reflector material and optical design can make the manufacturing cost of the headlamp module more attractive. In addition to be the latest high-efficiency LED (minimum 430 lm at 1 Amp driving current), the OBF-X series has the advantages of low thermal resistance, high contrast, and high robustness. This study will use OBF-X 2 chip, 3 chips and 4 chips LED, combined with concept of heatsink-less and optical design of reflector, to achieve a low system cost headlamp module design.
