While havinga microcontroller, color calibration is one of numerous advantages of this technology. This technology developed by HELLA providesunder various environmental conditions light with a color stability, whichremains far beneath the threshold of the human eye. Short and long termmeasurements confirm, that the same visible color will be achieved for allinterior light functions within the car. Different types of addressing singlemodule within a LIN tree, like fixed addresses or so called auto-addressing,gives automakers a wide range of flexibility for integration into carselectrical architecture. One major trend in the future of car interior lighting will be thepersonalization of ambient lighting in respect to color and dynamic. Conceptsbased on scaleables Interior Lighting Control Units (ICU) ambient lighting willbe adapted to factors like music, driving speed, temperature or ambientbrightness. Single ambient lighting scenarios up to personalized storybooks maybe generated via smartphone applications. Also in combination with functional lighting, color calibratedLIN-RGB modules are offering a wide field of styling opportunities. Because of the stability representing onedefined color coordinate, the technology can be mixed in applications with thelight of white light generated by LED with color conversion.
