Abstract—This contribution to IFAL 2016 would explain what are performance based regulatory requirements. It would give examples of technology neutral approach to regulatory development. This contribution would also highlight current status of work of the United Nation Working Party on Lighting and Light Signalling on simplification of UN Regulations. Timeline and milestones for this simplification would be explained.
