Usinghigh-beam in driving will cause glare to the drivers in oncoming vehicles. Insome suburban road, which is narrow and without road lighting, the glare causedby high-beam can be more serious. By combining the eye tracking data anddriving record, this article analyzes the sight distribution of drivers facingserious glare in some critical conditions. It found that although the driversare facing of serious glare, for the roads are narrow, they still have to gazeat the headlight of the oncoming cars to avoid accidents in the passingprocess. The increase of gaze time will exacerbate the harm of glare. And thethreshold of recognizing objects is rising. In suburban road, where the motorvehicles and non-motor vehicles are not separated, it is necessary to adjustthe light distributions to help the drivers get better view of pedestrians andbicycles in front them, so that the risk of accidents can be reduced.
