Abstract—The vehicularillumination system has undergone considerable technological advances in recentdecades such as the use of a Light Emitting Diode (LED) and HID (high intensitydischarge) lamps. However, the challenges to develop a global beam pattern forECE markets have been quite difficult due to different needs in differentregions, especially the emergent market’s needs. Global programs have to dealwith the differences among customer needs and desires. This paper shows thechallenges to understand the different needs and highlights the opportunitiesfor the future to improve road illumination and the driver's safety adoptingsimulations and different road scenarios.
