Abstract

With continuous progress of electronics components in interior overhead lighting , a subsequent move is the integration of proximity / touchless and gesture control function.

While in the past a few OEM used touchless control, these days more applications came onto market.
While gesture control as next step is technically feasible, applications are in discussions. To receive feedbacks from potential users, a study was conducted to get more information regarding the acceptance of such applications.  Also the impact onto the safety while using these applications was considered.

The result is a ranking of different applications compared with traditional switch buttons.
