BI-FUNCTION LB/HB PROJECTOR BASED ON A SINGLE UP TO 2000 LM SMT LED DEVICE

Abstract

A bi-function Low beam/High beam projector mock-up based on a single SMT LED light source which up to 2000lm and switches from low beam to full high beam by a moving shutter. Passive cooling of this lamp was allowed due to outstanding thermal management of this advanced lead frame based package. Optimised mechanical structure of this SMT device promises a 10 times higher stability against temperature cycling -40/125°C than comparable multichip LED packages. The new LED chip in this package provides an ideal square emission pattern without any notches, together with 400 lm / mm² and is capable of high current operation of more than 2 A / mm².
