Introduction

Vehicle exterior lighting has become much more than just a "function" in recent years both at Mercedes-Benz and in the overall automotive industry and is now an increasingly important des feature. This is underlined by the fact that we now refer to headlamps as the "eyes" of the vehicl They are striking and defining identifying features - not only during the day, but also more and at night. At Mercedes-Benz, we follow the basic principle, as part of our safety strategy, that technological progress must also contribute to increasing road safety. The customer and the safe we can offer our customers are the focus in this connection. The new fully dynamic LED headla were developed for the CLS based on these premises.
